COLLECTED POEMS AND PAINTINGS - CD Hunter

     Death, be proud
In history’s tome men curse your stance,
Unqualify your truth, belittle, moan,
Reject your honoured place; shake the
hallowed timbers with their bedlam.

I rebel
To learn that time is fresh,
Uphold your veiled significance and
Not engage the stripping acts of some,
Whom apparition’s fate has cast
In deference.
